With an impressive foundation on both ends of the floor, Brady Koehler fits the billing of the “modern-day big man.” His perimeter shooting on offense provides excellent floor spacing for his team, while his strong agility and rim protection on defense combine to provide excellent versatility within his impact. In this initial installment of his player profile, we’ll key in on Koehler’s shooting specifically.
40.5% of Koehler’s field-goal attempts come from beyond the arc (85th percentile) and he centralizes 21.6 shot possessions per 100 possessions (66th percentile). Together, his three-point attempt rate and shooting volume lead to an aggregate of 7.5 three-point attempts per 100 possessions (82nd percentile). Despite such tremendous three-point shooting volume, he’s hit his attempts at an elite 41.4% clip, which ranks in the 96th percentile when adjusted for sample sizes. Only eight qualifying players in Division I, 6-foot-10 or taller, are shooting 40% from three on over six attempts per 100 possessions; among them, Koehler is the only freshman.
