Any discussion of Eian Elmer’s statistical profile must begin with his teflon three-point shooting ability. After two years of impressive perimeter shooting, knocking down 40.1% of his threes with a 46.3 three-point attempt rate, Elmer has raised his shooting rate by over 10% this season without seeing a notable decline in his conversion rate. That’s rare. Through 17 games, his 39.5% three-point percentage ranks in the 93rd percentile and his 58.9 three-point attempt rate ranks in the 89th percentile among wings, both when adjusted for sample sizes. Few players in Division I match both his volume and efficiency from deep.
Alongside excellent perimeter shooting, Elmer has seen a leap in finishing efficiency that’s allowed him to improve his two-point percentage as well. His 63% at the rim last season has improved to 71%, and his 55% on twos has improved to nearly 59%. On top of strong three-point and two-point scoring, Elmer has also continued his history of excellent turnover economy. His 3.2 turnovers per 100 possessions rank in the 82nd percentile. Together, his efficient scoring and low turnovers give him a very high floor on offense, as a frictionless off-ball wing who fits into any lineup combination.
