2025 Player Profiles - Aaron Scott

(January 6th) Initially we talked about the lack of a clear single-skill strength with Aaron Scott, but as the season has moved forward, it’s become more and more clear that his ability to make plays on the ball from the defensive side is, in fact, an elite skill.  In the time since the last profile, Scott has jumped from the 79th percentile to the 90th in steals.

It’s also worth noting that while Scott has struggled as a shooter this year, the combination of his high FT% (93rd percentile), high attempt rate (88th percentile), and the longer history of him being a good shooter should absolutely inform the projection of his shooting far more than the single-season stabilized number we present here (23rd percentile).  Scott’s a good shooter who hasn’t quite found his groove yet in his first step into high major ball, but if you’re viewing him as a prospect, it’s almost certainly correct to place heavier weight on the broader sample.
